Are you getting enough nutrients in your daily meals?

Firstly, let us define nutrients, shall we? They are broken in two categories; macronutrients and micronutrients.

Macronutrients are carbohydrates, proteins and fats.

Micronutrients are vitamins and minerals such as calcium, iron and vitamin C.

Macronutrients give us the energy in our foods for us to move and function.

There are seven different nutrients:
  • carbohydrates.
  • proteins.
  • fats.
  • minerals.
  • vitamins.
  • fibre.
  • water.

Water is the most important nutrient and yet most of us take it for granted.

Most of us do not even understand the importance of it and think very little of the benefits of water.

To sound a bit far stretched, some of us even substitute water with other beverages thinking that

as long as we drink liquid, we are hydrating.

Anyway, let’s get back to our original topic.
