Here are my top 10 ways I reckon to make your 2015 healthiest year ever!
It is already approaching February. How has the year started for you so far?
Forget about Resolutions. Make A Vision Board instead.Create a personal mission and vision statements. A personal mission defines what you do, why you do what you do and how do you do it. A vision statement defines your optimal desire future state and helps provide guidance and inspiration on what you are focused on achieving.
Network X10.Attend networking events to meet people whom you believe could help you achieve your goals once you have determined your goals for the year. Opportunities are tied to People. Reach out to them to set a meeting and find ways to create a win-win relationship. Networking is not just about exchanging business cards. Follow up with the individuals and be sincere about it.
Be kind to one another.Being a good and kind person could actually make people perceive you as more attractive. Be kind to people wherever you are; speak kind words to one another and smile.
Be thankful everyday.Show gratitude to people who have helped you in any way possible; even the smallest favor counts. In other words, be appreciative. At times, we do take things and people for granted. And, we like to assume and expect of others.
“Be thankful for what you have; you will end up having more. If you concentrate on what you don’t have, you will never, ever have enough.” Oprah Winfrey.
Exercise Smart Eat Smart.Move your body daily even if it is only for 7 minutes. No time? Download a 7 minute application. Being physically active has many positive benefits including increased productivity, improved mood, improved appetite, higher confidence and self-esteem, increased Brain Power, and decreased medical leave. Take baby steps – planning nutritional and well-balanced meals, hire a personal trainer, and commit to training schedule. Most importantly, make time to exercise. There is no need to spend hours working out in the gym. Try HIIT in tabata style, which gives you a short burst of intensive workout of 20 seconds each and 10 seconds of rest. The whole workout is usually 40 minutes.
Read More Watch TV Lesser. The number of book readers has gone down tremendously ever since the rise of digital media – watching movies and shows on demand. Spend an effort to read an article of your interest daily while commuting to work. Spend lesser time playing Candy Crush or watching TV in 2015!
Invest In Yourself. You only have 1 body, 1 health and 1 life.
There is no investment that will give better returns than investing in you.
Start by pampering yourself to nice body massages or rejuvenated spa treatments monthly after a long and hard week. Hire a Life Coach or a Personal Trainer, learn a new skill or language – once you start putting your hard-earned money towards achieving something you will be compelled to have a stronger commitment to succeed.
Create A Money “ATM” Mentality.Money comes Money goes.
According to Marie Forleo, an ATM stands for “Automatic Transformative Mantra”. Tell yourself that every time you spend on something, there is always more where that came from.
Commit To Your Relationships.Spend more time with your loved ones and family this year. Dedicate a day and time for your family – get home early from work to have dinner with the family, read bed-time stories to your kids, have conversations with your parents and siblings or even partners. Make an effort with small steps daily. Days are getting shorter. You never know what’s going to happen to anyone. Don’t wait till the day comes and you regret. Your conscience will thank you for it!
Start A Fun Fund.It could be for yourself or for your family. Involve everyone in the family including children. Have everyone to look forward for a mid-year or a year-end holiday. Alternatively, the fund could be used on something fun but it has to be an activity where the whole family is involved. If you are single, it could be a short-getaway or something that you have always wanted to do but FUN.

I found out after the race via Twitter that another blgeogr was also there taking on Tough Mudder for the first time.a0 Dustin from Engaged Marriage was gracious enough to share some of his experiences from the race.a0a0 Here’s how he trained for Tough Mudder:a0 I trained pretty hard for this event.a0 At the time I started in March, I could barely run more than a mile.a0 By the time October arrived, I could run 8 miles at a time and finished a 5K in 25 minutes (my previous best was 32 minutes).a0 I focused on a mix of running twice per week with total body interval training using HIIT principles three days per week.a0 You can check this post for a good run-down on HIIT training.
